History of the house

Casa Filo was born at the beginning of the 20th century in the heart of Xeresa, a small Valencian village nestled between the mountains and the sea. Built with local stone and wood, it was the home of several generations of a farming family who cultivated the citrus fields and rice paddies of La Safor.

The natural stone walls and solid wooden beams preserve over a hundred years of family life. Designed to keep the house cool in Mediterranean summers and hand-crafted by local artisans, they are silent witnesses to Casa Filo's history. The traditional Valencian tiles that adorn the kitchen and hallways were carefully placed by local potters and still retain all their original vivacity and character.

The restoration of Casa Filo was carried out with a single principle: to respect what time had forged. Original materials were recovered wherever possible, century-old structures were reinforced without altering their appearance, and modern comforts were introduced in a way that would go completely unnoticed to the eye.

The result is a space where past and present coexist in perfect harmony. Every corner invites you to stop, to touch the stone, to look up and let yourself be enveloped by the warmth of the wood. A house that has soul, that tells stories, and that now opens its doors for you to write your own.
